The Renewal Church has been the result of a simple act of faith and obedience. After pastoring in the Philippines and traveling the nations as singing evangelists, our Founding Pastors Reuben and Clarita Barruel moved to the United States with their children, Stephen and Eunice, on March 7, 1977. The call they received from the Lord was to build bridges of love between individuals, churches, and especially those who do not know Jesus.

Soon after they arrived, they began to facilitate prayer meetings and bible studies throughout the Bay Area. These gatherings began to thrive with the most notable being in Pittsburg, California. These gatherings were filled with the presence of God and many saw signs and wonders through the miracles of salvation, healing, deliverance, and freedom. These gatherings later became known as Christian Renewal Ministries and now known as The Renewal Church.
